Isaac Moghalu Foundation Founder Honored

The African Women Economic Consortium (AWEC) Alliance, a United States based non-profit organization has honored Dr. Kingsley Moghalu, the Founder of the Isaac Moghalu Foundation, with the “Against All Odds” Award in recognition of the Isaac Moghalu Foundation's contributions to the promotion of literacy in Nigeria.


The award was presented by Dr. Uwa Onyioha-Osimiri, Founder/CEO of AWEC, at the inaugural “Against All Odds” award ceremony held at the University of Phoenix, Troy, Michigan on September 22, 2007. “You have been selected to be the first recipients of this award...because you defied the odds to excel while touching the lives of many in the process. We recognize you today in hopes you will realize that your life is an inspiration to more people than you know”, Dr. Onyioha Osimiri told to the honorees.

 “I accept this award on behalf of the Isaac Moghalu Foundation with humility and a renewed sense of determination on the part of the Foundation to forge ahead with its work”, Dr. Moghalu said in a statement accepting the award.

Dr. Moghalu was the only African honored with the award, the first by AWEC. American and Canadian community leaders also honored with the “Against All Odds” award included  the former Hon. Jean Augustine, former Member of Canada's Parliament and a former cabinet minister, and Ms. Daedra Von Mike McGhee, Director of Government and Business Affairs in the Office of the Governor of Michigan.
